About

If the mention of global warming troubles you, if high gas prices make you spin, if our national dependence on foreign fossil fuels upsets you, if you’re concerned about dangerous and polluting forest fires, and if you support rural economic development, then New Mexico Biomass Blog is the blog for you. Here we will discuss biomass energy, as well as other clean alternative energy sources, hopefully in a cheerful and rewarding atmosphere.

We advocate for what is known as a “holistic approach” toward alternative energy development. The holistic perspective argues that for a number of reasons—environmental, geopolitical and economic—the United States should vigorously develop all of its renewable energy options in order to lessen our dependence on imported oil, gas and coal. Solar, wind, biomass, and geothermal—all of these sources of energy when taken on their own have advantages and limitations, but when taken together (that is, holistically) they provide a powerful alternative to our nation’s present energy habits.

Lately, a good deal of anti-biomass propaganda has flooded New Mexico, mostly from anti-environmental and anti-development groups who do not support the holistic energy agenda. Against this trend, we feel it is time to take a stand against the few but loud naysayers by showing our support for biomass and other alternative energy production.

We very much welcome your feedback. Just email us here: nmbiomass@hotmail.com
